ロンデル

ロンデル（フランス語: rondel）は、フランスの抒情詩の詩形。ロンドーの変化形で、2つの四行連の後に1つの五行連（あるいは六行連）が続き、全部で13行（あるいは14行）になる。ロンデルは14世紀に発明され、おそらく英語よりフランス語により適している。ロンドー体（Roundel）もロンデルと呼ばれるが、混同してはいけない。

構造

ロンデルの第1連の最初の2行はリフレインで、第2連の最後の2行で繰り返され、第3連では最初（第1行）のリフレインのみが最後に繰り返される（あるいは2行のリフレインが繰り返される）。たとえば、「A」と「B」がリフレインとすると、ロンデルの押韻構成は「ABba abAB abbaA」（あるいは「ABba abAB abbaAB」）になる。一般的に、1行は8音節から成っている。

ロンデル形式の詩で最も知られているものは、シャルル・ド・ヴァロワの『Le Printemps』である。

Et s’est vestu de brouderie, - (b)
De soleil luyant, cler et beau. - (a)

ステファヌ・マラルメも1896年に雑誌『La Plume』にロンデル形式の詩を発表した。

Rondel Prime

なお、14行から成るロンデルはRondel Prime（またはRondel Supreme, French Sonnet）とも呼ばれる。オースティン・ドブソン（Austin Dobson）は次のような英語詩のRondel Primeを書いた。

Love comes back to his vacant dwelling, - (A)
The old, old Love that we knew of yore! - (B)
We see him stand by the open door, - (b)
With his great eyes sad, and his bosom swelling. - (a)
